Lesson Learned from Minesweeper

Life is like playing minesweeper.
Sometimes you are faced with situations where you don’t know what to do. It appears intimidating and you fear to commit a mistake for the result may be fatal.

One click may open doors and choices that would lead you to your goals. From that one bold step, you'll be given clues regarding what other steps to do, actions to take next.

But the game is not always smooth. There will be times that you'll be back to square one. You'll be clueless of what to do or where it's safe to click.
And this time, it’s more scary to commit a mistake because there are fewer options. You've come too far, you don’t want to risk losing after all the thinking and effort you've made.

Nevertheless, you must continue. You must take risk because time is running and not clicking any square won’t make you win the game.
You're near to your goal. You’re almost there.

A little stretching of your mind coupled with luck would get you there, you’ll see.

"Congratulations, you won the game!" Heck, just like that?

The reward you get would not compensate for the difficulty you've been through in playing. Life is like that too. Sometimes, you don't get the appropriate appreciation or reward for your hard work and effort. But it’s alright because the self-fulfillment you feel is great. REMEMBER: Satisfaction and motivation must come from within and not from material gain or praise from others.

There are other times that you will lose because of carelessness or lack of foresight or simply because you made a fatal mistake.
It’s normal. You cannot always win and maintain a hundred percent winning statistics. You have to move on and take note of your fault in order to avoid committing the same again.

After defeat and the natural feeling of regret for your loss, you can PLAY AGAIN!
Be careful though, because the restart and exit buttons do not exist in real life.

And if you've improved as a player, remember to never be stagnant. There are greater challenges, grander goals, and more fulfilling risks to take.
Enjoy!

P.S. For those of you who’s missing a lot and have never played the game, minesweeper is a single-player video game. The object of the game is to clear an abstract minefield without detonating a mine. It’s never too late to start to play.

  1. I was wondering if you ever thought of changing the page layout of your
site? Its very well written; I love what youve got to say.
But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so people could connect with it better.
Youve got an awful lot of text for only having 1 or 2 images.
Maybe you could space it out better?
